"Man Made" is a bronze sculpture inspired by the classical caryatid—architectural figures, often female, that serve as columns or supports for lintels in ancient Greek architecture. In my piece, I reimagine this concept with a male figure, partially pixilated at its base, as if coming apart. This fragmentation contrasts with the traditional solidity of the caryatid, suggesting the fragility of human identity and the tension between structure and dissolution. Through "Man Made," I explore the pressures and societal expectations that shape individuals, while addressing the impermanence of the physical and psychological structures we create. The work invites viewers to reflect on the complexities of identity and the transient nature of existence, highlighting how even the most enduring supports are vulnerable to deconstruct.
